In this book, the authors intimate that mere discovery of oil on the shores of Africa does not automatically guarantee wealth to its nations. The authors are of the view that the kind of contract signed, the transparency of their execution, and the proper monitoring of the ‘modus operandi’ of the various companies involved will be more crucial to the success of Africa’s oil find.

The question then is: Can the oil of commercial quantity found at the Cape Three Points in the Western Region of Ghana be a blessing or a curse? This book provides some critical issues for discussion. It also gives some rich suggestions and solid recommendations on how the emerging oil and gas nations in Africa, including Ghana can avoid the mistakes of Nigeria and embark on tangible policies that will push Africa forward in meeting her millennium objectives.
